Linda Murphy
The Healthy Hiker
In 2019, at the age of 58, Linda Murphy trekked over 3,000 km of the wild and rugged mountain ranges of the Pacific Crest Trail, solo, from Mexico to Canada.
In 2022, Linda hiked the entire 900 km of the Bruce Trail in 45 days.
This past November, she embarked on a 100km/5-day hike in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador.
Linda completed these treks to raise awareness about domestic violence across Canada, and over $100,000 for her local women’s shelter in Collingwood, My Friend’s House.
This past Spring, Linda completed a grief-healing journey-on-foot, hiking 1,000km from the south to the north coast of Ireland in 40 days, solo, on The Ireland Way, in memory of her recently deceased Irish parents.
Linda’s Canadian hikes include the 186 km Sunshine Coast Trail, over 100km of Algonquin Provincial Park’s back-country trails, and this year she will add the Rideau Trail and Newfoundland’s East Coast Trail, each of which is over 300 km in length.
Linda is known online and locally, as “The Healthy Hiker”, and is intent on educating and inspiring others to get up, out, and healthy in nature.
